It was right after a divorce that I did not want. I was a wreck and spent three years as a zombie, simply moving through life without purpose or meaning or even awareness. Then one day, it all changed.

I had this intense urge to do something, to create something, to escape what had been a miserable reality. My newphew was working on a mural on my daughter's wall so there were spray paint cans hanging around the house. I grabbed a few and some paper, went outside and grabbed some twigs and leaves and rocks from the ground, threw them on the paper and painted.

That was the beginning, and what a joyous beginning it was. Shortly after that I was introduced to crystals and simply fell in love the energy of them. I started learning all I could about them and collecting as many as I could.

One day I was trying to figure out how to do something that would allow crystals to help others the way they had helped me and the idea of painting with their energy just popped into my head.

From the first moment that I meditated with a crystal, then infused all my supplies with the energy of the crystal, and then allowed the energy to guide what was painted, I knew I had found my calling.

As I fell more in love with crystals and used them to help with my own spiritual growth, I became more and more aware of energy in general. It was then that I was introduced to Reiki. I learned Reiki and became attuned as a Reiki Master Teacher, all for my own spiritual growth.

I eventually realized that I could amplify the energy of the crystals in my paintings and add an energy of Love to them by giving them each Reiki, so now every painting gets a Reiki infusion before being shipped out.

It is my hope and my deepest wish that I can help others by spreading healing energy out into the world, one painting at a time.

Cheryl Larkin is an Abstract Energy Artist who was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. She was raised in a creative family but never really thought about painting until she was completely broken after her divorce. She turned to spirituality to help pull herself up and that included getting to know and love crystals and becoming a Certified Reiki Master. After seeing how much the crystals and Reiki helped her she wanted to find a way to help others as well.

Throughout some trial and error and self-teaching she ended up with a spray paint can, canvas, and crystals and everything fell into place. She finds imperfections beautiful so abstract art certainly appealed to her. Seeing one of her paintings in an episode of Criminal Minds gave her the courage and strength to make art a priority. Painting is a very spiritual practice for her and to be able to share that with others is a huge blessing. By combining the energy of crystals with Reiki she creates art that spreads healing energy into the world one person at a time.
